My Partner Wanted to Have a Threesome— Then I Left Him for the Woman We Slept With

Threesome. An anonymous woman spoke to the Australian website With Her In Mind about how after years of being pressured by her partner to have a threesome, she finally agreed to have one. However, things ended much differently than she could have ever imagined.

Relationship. The woman spoke to WHIMN writer Kerry Warren, who transcribed her story. It starts off with the woman talking about how she first fell in love with Clare, the woman she is now in a relationship with. But before falling for Clare, she was in a long-term relationship with Neil.Truth. "When friends ask how I met and fell in love with Clare after spending almost a decade with my high school boyfriend Neil*, I always say online'. But this isn’t the whole truth. I did meet Clare on the Internet but not on a dating site – she was responding to the ad Neil posted seeking another woman to join us in the bedroom,” writes Warren, via WHIMN.

Joking. The woman tells Warren that throughout their relationship, Neil would constantly bring up having a threesome. However, the woman simply assumed he was joking and never took Neil seriously. That is until he began to take action behind her back.

Message. "We had friends over for a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch and I went inside to change the music, which was playing through Neil’s phone, when a message popped up. 'I’ve sent my pictures – can you send me yours? ;) ;) And some of your girlfriend too? We’re all in this together after all!!!!' Try pretending you haven’t seen that message for another three hours until all your friends go home – I dare you,” writes Warren.

Dream. Later that day, the woman finally confronted Neil about the message. Shockingly, Neil owned up to it right away, saying he was trying to make his longstanding dream a reality once and for all.

Control. "He said he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, but wanted to at least try a threesome once before we got married. I could be in complete control of choosing our new bedfellow, he assured me, and all encounters would be set up by me,” writes Warren.

Clare. After searching through the messages Neil had already gotten, the woman finally chose Clare. The couple set up a time and date to meet, and finally met at a local bar. Immediately, the woman was drawn to her.

Meeting. "We met her in a local bar the following weekend and she was not just gorgeous, but friendly too. She had this amazing energy that just made you want to be around her. After drinks that turned in to dinner, we agreed to meet at our apartment the following week,” writes Warren.

Break up. The day for the threesome finally came, but it seems the only person left satisfied in the end was Neil. The woman says she was left feeling rejected after noticing Neil only paid attention to Clare, and this only caused problems in their relationship. Eventually, they broke up.

Fate. "I’m convinced what happened next was fate. About two months later I was doing my weekly food shop when I bumped into Clare in the ice cream aisle. I spilled about my breakup and before I knew it we were at the bar next door, staying until it closed,” writes Warren.

Together. The woman told Warren that she and Clare began dating soon after the meeting, and just two months later had moved in together. Now, nearly three years later, the couple are still together and hoping to get married soon.

Love story. "Ours isn’t the most conventional love story, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be comfortable telling our family and friends how we really met, but I will always be grateful for Neil’s dirty little secret,” writes Warren, via WHIMN.

Legal. Lucky for the couple, Australia recently legalized same-sex marriage. The bill was finally passed after years of fighting for equal rights. Hopefully, this woman and Clare will be able to tie the knot soon!
