
States. Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Alaska are the states reporting the highest number of cases in the country.
Chlamydia. The CDC says that while chlamydia cases dipped in 2013, the following year saw the highest number of annual cases of any STD case ever reported.
Cases. Chlamydia cases totaled around 456 cases per 100,000 people in 2014.
Gonorrhea. According to the Rhode Island Department of Health, cases of gonorrhea rose by 30%.
Syphilis. According to the Rhode Island Department of Health, cases of syphilis rose by 79%
HIV. According to the Rhode Island Department of Health, cases of HIV cases rose by almost 33%
Billboards. The AIDS Healthcare Foundation recently launched a billboard ad campaign to warn young adults partaking in causal sex of the STD risks.
Experts. As you can imagine, experts on the subject matter point to dating apps and the convenience of causal sex that led to the "explosion" of STD rates.
AHF. "Mobile dating apps are rapidly altering the sexual landscape by making casual sex as easily available as ordering a pizza," said Whitney Engeran-Cordova, senior director, Public Health Division for AHF.
Treatment. STDs are treatable, even the incurable ones like herpes and HIV. Prescription medication can help you maintain your life with STDs, but you need to inform your partners of your condition(s).

We're currently experiencing an STD problem in our country, but there isn't much media coverage on the diseases and illnesses spreading throughout the sexually active communities. Sure, you might've heard about the "record levels" of chlamydia popping up around the States, but the discussion has died down. Diseases like chlamydia, syphilis, and HIV, to name a few, are on the rise and we have to find a way to stop it. Since 2006. For the first time in about ten years, we've seen a rise in certain cases of STDs, including gonorrhea, syphilis, and chlamydia.
CDC. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is trying to raise awareness of the STD epidemic in the United States.
Epidemic. "America's worsening STD epidemic is a clear call for better diagnosis, treatment, and prevention," the CDC's Dr Jonathan Mermin said, according to the Daily Mail.
